Hempfield Foundation’s Mission
The Hempfield Foundation promotes excellence in education across the Hempfield School District by providing independent financial support for innovative projects and scholarships.
Who We Are
Founded in 1993, the Hempfield Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization that supports the educational mission of the Hempfield School District (HSD) through grants and scholarships. For 30 years, the Foundation has provided funding for innovative educational projects, enrichment programs, and other school initiatives through grants to HSD staff.
Since its founding, the organization has awarded more than $1,000,000 to Hempfield faculty and staff to allow them to try creative, research-based ideas that they would not otherwise be able to do. Grants from the Hempfield Foundation have positively impacted thousands of students – helping them to excel academically and to achieve success in activities outside the classroom.
The annual scholarships given by the Foundation recognize academic excellence, reward community service, and promote the importance of leadership. These awards help recipients succeed in their transition to college or other postsecondary educational opportunities.
What We Fund
The Hempfield Foundation Grant Program allows HSD teachers and staff to try creative ideas without incurring any financial burden. All grants align with the HSD’s comprehensive plan and overall goals for students. They support innovative, research-based programs and can come from any staff member in any grade in any school building. They impact core academics, essential support services, the arts, and athletics. Hempfield Foundation grants fund initiatives that are not already budgeted for by the school district.
